Most orthodontists offer clear or esthetic braces which weren't available years ago. This breakthrough has influenced many adults to consider orthodontic treatment. Adults who have been unhappy for years about their teeth are now choosing to treat themselves to a nicer smile. A lot of the adults are choosing the clear brackets because they are less noticeable and don't give the once thought of "tin grin" appearance. For those wishing to make a fashion statement another innovation in orthodontics may suit your needs a little better. Most orthodontists have available the colored elastic ties which hold the wires to the braces. These "colored ties" give the appearance of having colored braces! The nice thing about the colored elastics is that on almost every visit you can change your colors if you wish. Many choose red and green over the Christmas holidays, orange and black over Halloween, or red, white and blue to be patriotic over the summer months. The colored ties also allow students the ability to show their spirit by wearing their school colors!!
