Memphis Association of Orthodontists

F.A.Q.s Current Trends Doctor Listing

The Memphis Association of Orthodontists (MAO) was founded in 1984 as an aid to continually update its members on the advancements in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics in a manner consistent with continuing education promoted by the American Dental Association (ADA) and now required by the state of Tennessee.

In order to be a member of MAO, the doctor must have:

Graduated from an accredited dental school.
Passed the national and state general dental boards
Graduated from an accredited, university affiliated orthodontic specialty program consisting of an additional 5000 hours of academic and clinical orthodontic training.
Passed the state of Tennessee orthodontic specialty boards.
Be a member in good standing with both the ADA, the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and the state of Tennessee dental board.
